More is surfacing on the Turntable.fm licensing situation. Two separate sources to Digital Music News are now pointing to non-interactive streaming payments to SoundExchange, and Pandora-style playback compliance (still confirming).
The company plans to eventually charge a subscription fee, about $25 a year, for the service. Apple would also sell advertising around its iCloud service.

From the music industry’s perspective, however, there’s a big difference: Amazon started its service without getting approval from the big music labels. But Apple is actively seeking licenses for its service, and will pay the labels for the privilege.
