“Conscious Capitalism”

As the world “stabilized” into a new reality post 2008 crash, there was a realization that there has to be a better way of doing business, that we collectively can no longer sacrifice everything in pursuit of profit.  The spread of Occupy Wall Street captured this sentiment as did the passage of the B-Corp in 7 states (including NY and CA), a new class of corporation which requires fiduciaries to consider a range of societal implications, from employee satisfaction to environmental impact, when making business decisions (as opposed to focusing solely on shareholder value).
